About Screen Log

A log for what you watch, on your terms.

Screen Log is a place to record every film and TV episode you watch, with a rating and a review if you want one, and to look back on it for years. It is a record, not a feed.

Spoilers are yours to set

Pick how much you want to see: None, Default, Medium or High. Medium folds other people's reviews until you open them. High also folds their ratings and averages, so you walk into a film without anyone's verdict. It applies everywhere, and what you have already logged is never hidden from you.

TV is not an afterthought

Shows, seasons and episodes are records of their own, with permanent addresses like /show/the-wire/s1/e3. Log one episode in a tap, and "Currently watching" keeps the next episode ready so you never hunt for where you left off.

No algorithm, no buyout

Your feed is the people you follow, newest first. Nothing is ranked, boosted or recommended. Discovery is a search, a filter or a friend's diary. Your log is yours: export all of it any time, restore it, or delete it on the spot.

Themes that go all the way

A theme here changes the type, the separators, the backdrop and how posters are framed, not only the colors. There are 10 built in, you can make your own from three colors, and you can adopt one from anyone's profile.

Watching with friends

Tag the friends you watched with and, once each approves, everyone's rating and review of that night sit together on one page. Or record a commentary as you watch, each line stamped with how far in you were. A friend plays it on their own copy with their own timer, and every line appears only when they reach that moment, so nothing is given away early.

Privacy is a switch, not a maze

Every log, like and entry is public or private. There is no followers-only middle tier to misread. Private things do not leak through feeds, counts, averages or tags.

Coming from Letterboxd?

Bring your history with you. Upload your Letterboxd export in Settings and your diary, ratings, reviews, likes and watchlist come across, with a short queue to confirm any title we are unsure about. Importing adds nothing to your followers' feeds.

Where the data comes from

Film and TV details and posters come from TMDB. Screen Log is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.

About me

I'm Ken Harris, a software developer for over a decade. I like watching movies, and I like discovering new ones from my friends, which is the reason Screen Log works the way it does. If you want to help keep it running, you can support it on Ko-fi. Or not, that's okay too!
